| The Early Years Foundation Stage is broken down into four main themes: A Unique Child Positive Relationships Enabling Environments Learning and Developing These four areas cover all aspects of the Nursery and its procedures. * We plan for the children's learning by observing them playing, recording these observations, discussions with colleagues and the child's family and pulling all this information together in each child's individual development folder. We link it back to the Early Years Foundation Stage so you can see at a glance how your child is progressing. The same framework applies to children in their reception year at school, so nurseries and schools are working together to get the best results for each individual child. The folders include photographs of the children at play and evidence of their work (paintings, cutting and sticking, letters and numbers) and records of any observations that have been done. These folders are yours to keep when your child leaves the nursery to go to school and you can see them whenever you choose. |
